The Ride relies on hundreds of volunteers to support our participants and the UW cancer mission. Volunteers are able to contribute in a number of ways.
If you are interested in being a Volunteer Captain to help lead a group of volunteers, please reach out to us at [email protected]
The Ride setup starts long before our first participants make their way to the start line as we load rest stop trucks and set up our beautiful site all weekend. We also hold our pre-event packet pick-up and registration if volunteering directly with participants is more your speed.

FINISH LINE SUPPORT
Play an active role in inspiring participants as they finish their journey. Finish line support includes groups and individuals committed to providing a positive environment as well as offering aid and encouragement to finishers as they complete their route distance.
-Cheer and Encouragement Team
Volunteers are critical to providing support and safety to all participants while on their course. The Ride provides individuals and groups several opportunities to contribute to The Ride and its mission throughout several Wisconsin counties as The Ride routes weave through many communities before finishing back in Madison.
