MADISON, WIS. –

The Ride, a University of Wisconsin cancer research benefit announces a newly designed program amidst the COVID-19 pandemic which allows participants to partake in The Ride virtually while driving awareness and funds to cancer research and treatment efforts at the University of Wisconsin.

The Global Program provides an opportunity for participants worldwide to partake in The Ride and support the cancer mission by completing one of the many bike route distances (100 Mile, 100K, 50K, 25K) virtually from home or any location of interest. Participants in the program will have a multi-week period in which to accomplish their virtual route beginning on the day of The Ride, September 27, 2020. Participants are encouraged to share their journey with others via social media as the University of Wisconsin collectively celebrates advances in cancer research and patient treatment on the day of The Ride.

Riders a part of the Global Program will be provided with a participant shirt as well as a finisher medal via mail upon the completion of their virtual routes. Registration for the Global Program is $30 and allows individuals the ability to raise awareness and funds to The Ride’s mission of supporting the brightest cancer minds, ideas and technologies at the University of Wisconsin.
