Conquering Cancer Continues

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2020

Although there will be no centralized gathering due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, The Ride is proud to implement the ultimate in safety while delivering a high quality individualized experience to honor those affected by cancer and our mission to find a cure.

SAFETY MEASURES in 2020

There will be no central gathering location.

There will be no designated start location. Participants will select where they wish to begin as well as The Ride providing numerous suggested start locations on all routes for those unfamiliar with the area.

There will be no designated start time. All participants will have the ability to select when they wish to begin. Aid stations and engagement elements along the routes will be active from 8am - 4pm on Sunday, September 27.

The Ride will provide all participants with comprehensive safety precautions while participating, including protocol for if participants approach others along the course.

Individually packaged food and beverage options will be provided at aid stations for quick, non-contact support.

Restroom facilities with ample sanitation elements accompanied by required safety protocol directives will be available to all participants at aid stations.

Due to the challenges of providing a safe experience while social distancing, The Ride has removed the 5K route option.

Participants will receive their pre-event packets which include day of materials, participant shirt and medal via mail. Those who register prior to Friday, September 18 will be guaranteed to receive their packet prior to Sunday, September 27.

This scenic century ride is the perfect challenge for cycling enthusiasts. You'll experience a breadth of quintessential Wisconsin settings, including farmsteads with grazing cattle, charming lake views, shady woodlands and rolling fields.

Although riders will start their route circuit in various self-selected locations and times in 2020 for added safety measure, The Ride will provide the same high quality course elements and aid while enhancing the individual rider experience by developing engagement displays throughout the course that highlight the cancer mission at large.

The 50K route is our mid-distance option - not too long and not too short. You'll find plenty of picturesque farmsteads and lovely trees along this 35 mile course.

The 25K route is a great starting point for less experienced and younger riders. You'll see expansive fields, mature trees, barns and white picket fences along this 15 mile course.

Due to the challenges of providing a safe experience while social distancing, The Ride has removed the 5K route and intends to reinstate the course in 2021. The 5K route winds along 3 miles of closed roads within the American Family Insurance headquarters campus.

The new Global Program allows individuals to partake in the mission of accelerating cancer research and patient treatment programs remotely. Whether you complete the 100 Mile, 100K, 50K, or 25K distance in your town or on a stationary bike at home, you know that you are driving change and powering the most promising cancer research discoveries at the University of Wisconsin.

Bikers part of the Global Program worldwide receive a participant shirt and medal upon the completion of their committed distance while driving awareness and funding to the University of Wisconsin and its mission to cure cancer and improve patient treatment.
